The Downhill Stretch for the Drumbot

We missed our target of finishing the hobbyweight 'bot this past weekend, so we're shooting for simply "ASAP" and then we can move on to the beetleweight, which really just needs assembly and wiring. We're hoping to completely wrap up fabrication tonight, and maybe even get on with some wiring.

Here's our checklist for the drumbot - there's a little drilling and tapping to do on the third panel, and the rest is wiring. We're getting a late-ish start tonight, but we're at least hoping to finish the drilling and tapping.

And here we go with the drilling and tapping. These holes are to be able to secure to top and bottom plates to the 'bot, which have been cut from 3/32" Lexan - yup, real Lexan™ - recently purchased from Home Depot.

We have to disassemble and reassemble as we go, which is great, because it gets the muscle memory used to putting the 'bot back together in a certain order, as it needs to be.

Not many pictures tonight as we've been busy getting things done. Finally we wrap up tonight with the top and bottom plates ready yo be bolted to the frame. Tomorrow night we start on the wiring, which will - hopefully - be a straight-forward affair.
