Here are some notes on the 'bots, based on how they performed, and our initial plans for upgrades, etc.

    Transcendental Terror 1.0 - 150g Fairyweight
  • The blade and motor combo held up very well - keep it
  • The two losses were from ending up on its top, so we need to shave off some weight and add a roll bar.
  • The two-piece chassis was a pain to work with, so new chassis, from a single block, and a simple cover.
    Poor Punctuation 2.0 - 1lb Antweight
  • The weapon didn't spin up, presumably from the idlers not engaging properly - redesign the chassis to space the motors and idlers at 90° intervals
  • The flat-head screws pulled through the polycarbonate top after a hit from Gyroscopic - switch to titanium top and bottom, and pan-head screws
    Malicious Mule - 1lb Antweight
Upgrades for Malicious Mule will include:
  • Polycarbonate top and bottom
  • 4 new powerful motors
  • New radio and receiver for increased driveability
  • Grill of Death™
    Unlettered Understrapper 2.5 - 3lb Beetleweight
  • No rebuild planned - this design is retired.
    Didactic Duelist 1.5 - 3lb Beetleweight
  • Switch the top and bottom for thin titanuim for added stiffness
  • Run slightly bigger tires
  • Add runners for invertibility
    Steel Stiletto - 12lb Hobbyweight
    Redesign efforts for SS include:
  • Titanium outer shell
  • Polycarbonate inner shell
  • New motors (of same type)
  • New speed controlers, radio and receiver
  • Additional spikes of death - placement TBD
    Nihilistic Naysayer - 12lb Hobbyweight
  • Keep the drum - it worked well itself
  • Pocket the ends of the drum shaft into the side rails, and use Grade 8 bolts
  • Switch the front wall for 6061 rather than polycarbonate
  • Thicker side walls, allowing for a lip for the rear curved wall
    Formidable Fustigator 2.0 - 30lb Featherweight
  • No rebuild planned - this design is retired.
